Abstract

Ideally, Muslims understand magic as a phenomenon whose existence is acknowledged in Islamic teachings, yet it is strictly prohibited because it contradicts the principle of tawhid. However, misunderstandings persist in society, either in the form of excessive fear or permissive attitudes toward magic. This study aims to examine the concept of magic based on the Qur’an and Hadith and its implications for aqidah (faith) and social life. This article is categorized as library research employing a qualitative approach. The methodology used is descriptive analytical study. The findings show that magic is a real phenomenon, but it does not possess independent power, as it operates under the will of Allah. Magic is prohibited in Islam because it is considered an act of associating partners with Allah and is prone to deceptive practices.
